The “Numbers Go Up” game or intentional fraud?

A story about fake devs, forgotten projects launched with @clanker, @proxystudio.eth and how someone may be making thousands of dollars monthly on Farcaster using fake accounts
Looks like we got some imposters here. We aren’t as active on FC so it would be much appreciated if you could help.

Just got this phishing email.
AI can detect and prevent fraud

If you have an account with any major bank, chances are they use AI in their fraud detection and prevention systems. These work by analyzing thousands of transactions, and recognizing normal patterns so they can flag suspicious activity. These programs can auto-decline anything suspicious and flag an investigation, as well as notify the individual for verification.
If you see a 12 word seed phrase out in the open.

Just know it's a scam! 🙂‍↔️

Favor, this account is impersonating me and even worse, deploying clankers to try to deceive folks.

Please report this account and block!

They have a green halo since they are new and use two “ii”’s in the name!
Not sure if this is a scam but I received a dm on X by a famous artist featured on AB asking if I’m open to collab… don’t want to share publicly her name but I think it’s a very strange request since we never interacted before. Her account seems authentic but I heard of hacked profiles recently. She proposed a zoom chat on Monday so I guess I’ll receive a link. Should I propose a safer approach? Maybe I should setup the call and send the link instead of receiving it? And of course I will never download or click anything 🤔
Idk what this is but sharing to try to help spread the word & not get caught up 👇🏽👀
👀🧐 just ignore it! 👇🏽

✨ FAQ: So You Got A Weird Token In Your Warpcast Wallet ✨

Warpcast Wallet hides spammy tokens by default, but you may notice unknown tokens listed if you choose to tap "Show All." These are almost always spam or scams. And once in a while a spammy token makes it past the filter. These tokens will usually try to trick you into visiting a malicious website by displaying a link in the token name or in an error message.

The best and safest thing you can do is to IGNORE THEM. Just don't interact at all.

Q: I got an unknown token. What should I do with it?
A: Ignore it.

Q: It says it's an airdrop. Is this free money?
A: No, ignore it. This is a scam.

Q: Should I send it out of my wallet?
A: No, ignore it.

Q: Should I swap it for another token?
A: No, ignore it.

Q: There's a website in the token name, should I visit it?
A: No, ignore it. The link is a scam.

Q: I tried to swap it and the error says to go to a website. Should I visit it?
A: No, ignore it. The link is a scam.
According to FBI, Americans lost more than $5 billion from crypto fraud in 2023, with many scams targeting the elderly. The FBI reported freezing $6 million in scammers’ crypto wallets in September, then seizing the assets.

NOT GM!

Today I woke up to the bad news that my wallet was completely empty, with multiple transactions and money sent to different addresses. I had the bad luck of falling for a scam when I was invited to a call by an app that seemed legitimate.
The application in question is WaveCall.ca (please DYOR), where you first have to download the app and then the person sends you a conference code, but at that moment I gave them access to my passwords and woke up with an empty wallet.
From that moment on, I was paralyzed, trying to understand how I had fallen into that trap. I remembered that the call seemed legitimate; the person @Kamo0102_eth (on X) on the other end of the line seemed trustworthy, but now all of it felt like a cruel scam.
If something seems too good to be true, it usually is. Extremely fishy contract, only $14k volume in 24 hours? The only wallets selling show no activity for 150+ days and then only sell a few coins.

We're hearing reports that Yup is posting messages to users accounts without their permission. It's likely an accident.

If you have previously connected Yup to Farcaster or Twitter, we recommend disconnecting it to be safe.

On mobile, go to Settings -> Advanced -> Connected Apps and delete Yup
