Things feel different around here… it’s like showing up to the party and realizing all your friends have VIP while you’re stuck with a GA pass.
This past weekend, I participated in the Baldy 5000. The Baldy 5000 almost didn’t happen after two devastating wildfires impacted the Mt. Baldy area. Part of the race entries has been donated and will go to the community of Baldy. A big thank you to the race organizers and the Baldy Fire Department for an amazing race weekend.
Felt like 2007 all over again.
Did some casts get deleted when the channels switched over?
Do you donate your old shoes, or do you prefer to recycle your worn-out running shoes?
Any caster going to justice at the bowl tonight?

As I taper for my first 50k, I can't help but reflect on how far I've come in just a year. Last year at this time, I was gearing up for my first half marathon. Back then, as a self-proclaimed miler, tackling a marathon seemed like an impossible feat. Fast forward a year, and after pushing my limits, I’m now preparing to take on a 50k with nearly 5,000 feet of vertical gain.

If someone had told me a year ago that I’d be doing a 50k, I probably would’ve laughed and said, "Maybe in a few years." But here I am, just a year into this new chapter, training for the longest and toughest run of my life. Looking ahead, the LA Marathon will be my shortest race of next season. By this time next year, I hope to be planning for my first 50-miler, with my sights set on Michael Versteeg’s Saddles race around Prescott, Arizona.
NFL predictions for week 5.

Currently sitting at 7-4 for the season up +2.79units

Happy capping frens.

Enjoying the new receipts update.
Who’s was analyzing foot strike from shoe wear?
Not sure why my elevation gain doesn’t transfer over to the receipts app.
This weekend was a suffer-fest and the last big training block before the Kodiak 50k. On Saturday, I did a 10-mile run at just over marathon pace to tire out my legs a bit before the longest run of the block. We did 35k with 4,200 feet of vertical gain. Around mile 20, my body started to shut down during the hottest part of the day, but we made it to the finish—and the nearest toilet.
During my run on Sunday, I came across a bug I had never seen before. It turned out to be a tarantula hawk.

I ended up seeing two of them, and one was flying after me for a bit before I sprinted away.
Week 2 is ready for some action! I'm still using the numbers I ran a couple of weeks before the season kicked off. We’ll adjust around Week 4.
I experienced heat edema for the first time yesterday during a hike. The temperature was 103°F, and around 4.5 miles into the hike, my fingers swelled up and looked like hotdogs. I was out for about three hours and drank around two liters of water. The swelling went down once I got into the shade and cooled off a bit.
Fun times celebrating frens.
I ran these NFL numbers a few weeks back… let's check in and see how the model is performing this season.
Saying how you feel will never ruin a real connection.
Anyone running the Santa Monica classic 10k this weekend?

It’s going to be a warm one.
