I just ordered the newest Cecilie Bahnsen x Asics collab 2 weeks ago, and I open my email today to find another one being released next week....these one have flowers on them 😍😍😍
I went to one of my fave places yesterday, The Museum of Anthropology located at The University of British Columbia (my alma mater ☺️)
It primarily focuses on the display and collection of art and objects from the Pacific Northwest Indigenous Nations. What really makes the museum stand out is its curatorial philosophy - they’ve always prioritized collecting and displaying traditional and contemporary Indigenous art in a way that respects the artists and the cultures where the pieces originated.
The museum and the university reside on the traditional and unceded territory of the Musqueam people and works by Musqueam artists great guests as they enter.
It houses close to 50,000 ethnographic objects, as well as 535,000 archaeological objects in its building alone, including masterpieces by Bill Reid and Beau Dick (2 of my fave artists of all time).

My biggest takeaway from last week's ep of Context pod, presented by @boysclub was how committed Nina Chanel Abney is to her craft as an artist, sticking to her vision to continually question our fixed positionalities in the world.
I still feel that her @cryptopunks Super Punk World drop was incredibly misunderstood and I hope the pod can also shed some light on how brilliant it was and how it creatively used humour to challenge identity norms in NFT/PFP space.

She also highlighted how important one on one relationships are when you're a creator in web3, how to strategically identify partnership opportunities and the difference between founder centric vs. friendship centric brands.

I love that the Squiggle points up (reminds me of a bullish coin/stock chart😅), which is fitting considering how important this collection is in the growth of crypto art and generative art.
