Here is the second part of our experience exchanging cultures! Just as @eiteengo suggested, having matcha alongside our mate tradition is a great idea—I’m sure the Japanese would enjoy mate too! 🧉➕🍵
We shared with them how we prepare mate and the story behind it. Mate is a communal drink; we typically share the same mate among friends and family. This practice fosters connection and creates a culture of sharing. Traditionally, we use a pumpkin gourd to drink yerba mate because our ancestors did it that way. The indigenous peoples of Latin America used to grow their pumpkins near the burial sites of their ancestors to remain connected to their souls and wisdom. When we share mate, we share this knowledge as part of the ritual. 🎃
Nowadays, there are many different types of mate, and we don't grow pumpkins near our ancestors anymore. But the essence of the ritual remains..
Mate is like a life partner—always there to warm your heart. 🎶✨❤️

During our Japan Tour, we had the privilege of experiencing a special tea ceremony. Our friend, DJ Takeuchi, who has played with us several times, wanted to introduce us to his family. Since we gifted him a 🧉mate from our country, he wanted to take this opportunity to showcase his mother's work and exchange cultures with us. She is a master of the tea ceremony and created a special one that was a bit more relaxed and fun. We learned so much that day and enjoyed the best matcha ever! 🍵
