Build open innovation ♾️ play infinite sum games

Here's a simple summary of more benefits of EigenLayer:

**Open Security Market**: Projects can tap into Ethereum's existing security, allowing them to secure their services without building a new validator network.
**Lower Startup Costs**: New projects can use EigenLayer to access Ethereum's validators, reducing the cost and effort needed to secure their networks.

**Diversified Rewards**: Validators can earn rewards from multiple projects, not just Ethereum, increasing potential earnings.
. **Customizable Security**: Different services can apply varying levels of security based on their needs.
**New Use Cases**: It enables innovative applications like decentralized data storage or cross-chain services, backed by Ethereum’s security.
Ethereum's layered approach offers trust, decentralization, and long-term resilience.

With open innovation on ETH (and other core protocols), EigenLayer exemplifies how scalability and security can work together.

it might seem wild at this moment, but after exploring modular blockchains for a good enough time, the next stop for eigenlayer could very well be "we haven't given a thought to it yet," especially when we consider the early days of ethereum https://warpcast.com/axg/0xde823ede
The lore is Finality punted off 5m into the EigenLayer seed from a fund of 10m (much bigger now).

Would be a great place to start off in VC

Restaking refers to the process of taking staked ETH (Ethereum locked for securing the Ethereum network) and reusing it to secure other services or projects through EigenLayer. It allows stakers to extend the utility of their staked ETH by participating in multiple security tasks, thus earning additional rewards.
@eigenfoundation
have to give it to the eigenlayer team for timely support on discord that enabled me to claim community stakedrop, one kind of an experience

Think back to the internet’s early days of congestion—now apply that to blockchain.

EigenDA is here to clear the way as an actively validated service (AVS) built on /eigenlayer.

With top-tier throughput, a strong trust model, and unmatched customizability, EigenDA is helping blockchains scale smarter.

EigenLayer: “In an isolated incident this morning, an email thread involving one investor’s transfer of tokens into custody was compromised by a malicious attacker.

As a result, 1,673,645 EIGEN tokens were erroneously transferred to the attacker’s address. The attacker sold these stolen EIGEN tokens via a decentralized swap platform and transferred stablecoins to centralized exchanges. We are in contact with these platforms and law enforcement. A portion of the funds have already been frozen.

The compromise has not impacted the broader ecosystem. There is no known vulnerability in the protocol or token contracts and this compromise was not related to any onchain functionality.

We continue to investigate the situation and will be posting further information once we have it.”

EigenLayer his been hit by criticism after it was revealed that staking rewards received by early investors are not restricted by token lock-ups.

The situation echoes Celestia's token launch, which was followed by a 75% plunge as investors could sell staking rewards.

EIGEN's total supply is fixed at 1.68 billion and its circulating supply is 186 million. As it stands, there are 130 million EIGEN tokens staked. Many believed these were all a part of the claimed tokens but in fact, 70 million of these tokens belong to this small group of early investors.

no authorities, no committees - just pure, trustless coordination
So, as a US citizen, is it dumb that I'm staking on Eigenlayer? I feel like I'm providing value to the AVSs that I'm staking on, but am I just sacrificing my own potential earnings on my staked ETH for nothing?

I feel like EIGEN is just extracting any potential future rewards that I would get for contributing.
Also, US folks,

/eigenlayer airdrop is restricted in the US.

No eigen for you.
