Somebody please tell me the truth.
I woke up this morning and I wanted to watch the
@ethereumfilm on PRIME VIDEO only to realize that it was restricted for my location (NIGERIA).
That means as a Nigerian, the only possible options were to either
1. Rent the streaming period for 48 hours at $3.99 on VIMEO
2. Buy the stream for $9.99 VIMEO
3. Book a Screening
4. Or probably watch on APPLE TV
Now my question is could this have been done better?
Could this have been made available Off-chain and On-chain for example, using platforms like @zora on @base.
Or is there a reason why @ethereum decided to release this Offchain only?
As a filmmaker, I think I am just curious to know; somebody, please tell me something.

Finally watched /ethereumfilm! As I know, it was first filming in Korea. Started as a hobby miner in 2012, and turned it into a lifetime job since 2015. Watching the community and Ethereum grow for over 10 years brings back memories and feels emotional. Thanks, @linda. Enjoyed the movie with my hearts
Appreciate that the @ethereumfilm documentary was character-driven rather than benefit driven.
There are many mainstream pro-humanity people who _want_ to work hard to create a better world.
We don't attract them by hyping or sugarcoating, but by inspiring them, helping them dream, and then equipping them to build.

I know some want the @ethereumfilm documentary to be a movie you can show to non-crypto people and all of a sudden they get crypto and its use cases but there's a fine line IMO of being too preachy/salesy about crypto
If the goal is to attract a mainstream audience then having a movie simply about interesting, mission-focused characters helps people learn it's not just bad actors they see in headlines, keeping them open-minded to learn more
Pushing the positives of crypto too much can turn a lot of people off from watching the film / makes people skeptical vs goal is humanizing the space with good actors makes it more accessible

I just watched the film and thought it was fantastic.
So many different threads - Vitalik's story, the merge, NFTs, Ukraine, & more - all weaved into an infinite tapestry which is both entertaining and inspiring.
I hope it gets picked up by a streaming service, and I'd also love to own a physical blu-ray if that ever becomes possible. It would go on my shelf right next to The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin.

just finished watching @ethereumfilm. It tells some of Vitalik’s personal story, a brief history of Ethereum, and its positive impact on the world. it touches the cypherpunk and decentralized ethos, the usual “the computer vs. the casino” narrative, crypto's role in Ukraine and Argentina, and the environmental impact of the shift from PoW to PoS.
but I’m unsure if it resonates with those outside the crypto space. even for insiders, some may also feel too shallow, while others probably just wish Vitalik really had a dog named $MISHA.
For me, it was a revisit of familiar things, though there were a few stories I hadn’t heard before. like Vitalik once living in an anarchist cooperative near Barcelona. It’s easy to see why he later focused on collective action and public goods.
Personally, I’m optimistic about Ethereum’s future and have the patience to see its long-term positive impact. I like Vitalik’s closing line:
“We know what the roadmap is, let’s keep calm and keep building”.
