Important intel from the team. You don’t get a boost by casting in channels. Cast in them because you want to, not because you have to!
If you’ve never tried /recaster, today is the day you should.
They have a channels invitation view on your notifications tab that only shows invites to channels. Sometimes they get lost on Warpcast with announcements. It’s free, you can schedule casts, and their trending algo is a bit different so you might see some new people or new topics.
Definitely try it if you haven’t!

A high level summary of what’s going on with channels. Remember we are all in this together, hosts are human and probably overwhelmed, and we are in the midst of one of the biggest cultural changes on Warpcast to date. My old behavior: 80% channels, 20% home feed. My new behavior, more like 50:50. If it doesn’t absolutely belong in a community channel for a specific reason, default to home feed.

Been looking for a channel like this since the channel updates. Glad it exists.

Do you know your Spam Label level? Have no idea what I’m talking about? Then you’d better not miss tonight’s State of the Union!
The more I refresh the feed, the more it’s showing me my own casts (hilarious) or casts with significant engagement. Not seeing a single thing without 10+ likes or comments.
Cannot for the life of me figure out why some replies are in priority, some are just in mentions, and some are not giving me notifications at all.
Testing casting in channels and only in my home feed to see if they changes what notifications pop up.

In case you missed the alpha on /earlymorningcrew, I no longer understand my home feed algorithm and I learn best by doing. I’m about to finish clearing out 80% of the channels follow and unfollow everyone. I want to see what the algorithm shows me when I follow zero people. Wish me luck and stay tuned for the experiment!

And now that we’ve had channels for a week, it seems like they aren’t working for most things. We lost rules/channel norms so people don’t know how to cast properly. Almost every channel feed I scroll is terrible, and it’s making me reassess how much energy I should put into them and questioning how I’ll even use some of my own channels going forward. We aren’t supposed to use channels as topics anymore, but community. There is no boost for casting in channels and most people aren’t scrolling the feeds. Can we make cozy corners or is it too late to unlearn the behavior we’ve all been trained on?
I’m about to do major experiments this week. Wish me luck.

What is the best place or tool to make rules of channels?

This entire thread is worth a read. My interpretation is that you can’t get a spam label in channels you are a member of, but you can still get marked as spammy behavior and be ineligible for boosts and other Warpcast specific rewards. Has anyone seen anything to break this hypothesis?
I’m really unhappy with this development. Not that any of the developers care what I think! But Warpcast is set up to be an alternative to X. Why align with them and give a boost to the same people who have been successful on X? Am I going to go back to now to make sure my X account is healthy so that I can get reasonable algorithm boost on Warpcast?

My advice to new people:
Only reply in channels.
Pros:
You can’t get a spam label in channels.
Good chance you’ll be seen with these changes even if you aren’t a member of the channel.
Cons:
If you are “spammy” host may block you; be thoughtful with your replies.

With channels moving to a membership model, will Warpcast be used more as a customer support tool for businesses?
Just as many companies now link to their Discord, Telegram, and other communication channels, I think there’s a compelling case for adding an onchain platform to that mix.
