I'm happy with Bitwarden at the moment. I'm able to recommend it to non-technical people. Does anyone else have experience with Bitwarden?

Isn't that missing the existence of password managers? 1Password, Bitwarden, etc all support passkeys and are platform neutral.
Also passkeys can be very powerful if we treat them as per-device signers (no sync necessary). We can use our world computer with programmable security to globally manage device signers for us.
(Keystore rollup is another approach, and can even do interesting offchain versions, currently reviewing a design where it's a state channels of CRDT updates that get flattened onchain on demand.)
Overall I think passkeys may end up being more useful for crypto than they are for Google/Apple.

Your Farcaster Casts are your CV (a 🧵)
When I get a notification that someone commented on my post and I don’t recognize the name/pfp, the first thing I do is scroll their profile.
I make a judgement in about 15 seconds and try to determine if I think you are an authentic account or a spammer/scammer/farmer.
Here are the things I look for:
1. Are you posting original content?
2. Is your profile mostly recasts and frames?
3. If you are casting to big channels (cough /itookaphoto /nature) do the photos look like you took them or are they stolen from Pinterest?
4. Are you casting to channels that generate a lot of spam? (I’m not going to throw shade at the channels in public)

Spam Labels have been public for a month and we've seen significant updates to the number of casters with Level 2 Labels (the good one) and the consequences of the Level 0 Label (the worst one) via the Great Follower Purge of February 2025.
With a resurgence of bot-like accounts this weekend, the algorithm will only get more aggressive.
I've made significant revisions on this article as the team has given us more clarity around the algorithm as well as included resources on how to save your friends from spam jail and a thread on the teams thinking about spam.
Please remember this is guidance, not gospel. The algo is secret. Always appreciate any feedback or areas I can clarify.

After 100,000 casters lost their good spam label, I imagine the spam problem must be much worse than we imagine. Because of the dramatic shifts in labels over the past 2 weeks, it feels almost impossible to track or make sense of. Maybe we just embrace it.
Dear @shanemac.eth, awesome that you are aiming to help people, but I think you can have more impact when you leverage the existing communities and infrastructure of Farcaster. Ways that work on X, tend not to yield the same results here.

The main topic for the last couple of calls has been the Spam Algorithm. However, there have been massive improvements and now a significant amount of casters are in the algorithms good graces.

Spam Labels updated 1 hour ago and now over 170,000 people have level 2 (good) spam labels! This is huge. We were at 40,000 a month ago.

What a shame. You do interact with this person at some point. But I agree with you Jacque. I will remove this person from my channel and unfollow them. It's the least we can do, considering that other legitimate profiles are still being labeled as spam.

If we give more agency to numbers since they play a large role here. I just looked at a huge account that followed me for a hot second now they have less than 100 folxs they follow.
Mind you I clean up who I follow a lot since it’s an indication as we know too many and ourselves to see who we have given a stamp of “oooh I like this caster” “they are real” “I vouch for their proof of human” “love the vision they stand for” “amazing creature” etc

@geoffgolberg drops another cool analysis of the network. Make sure you are following good accounts and disconnecting yourself from bad ones. It removes their power and puts them further away from the center of the network.

We dig deeper and look at how many of those are considered qDAU (quality Daily Active Users) the numbers are much more startling...
