The last couple of weeks were a bit of a reminder of how much attention this platform will demand when base szn is truly up and running

The exposure is there , but what I believe is missing:

Retention

If we can invite people in
If we can show them the way
Then they'll stick around
@beerguy.eth was the inspiration for this one.

You definitely should be following this kind & extremely talented mfer! ๐Ÿ‘

CHALLENGE #4 - getting visibility

The best way to be seen and avoid getting stuck in "see more replies" is to grow your followers and to join channels

This channel will aim to be a guide to find people and channels that suit you!

CHALLENGE # 3b - interaction etiquette

big ups to @katwolfie for her input on this one

as with any established community, there are both spoken and unspoken rules that this channel will be able instruct new people on - steering away from just QCing stats trackers, asking for tips, or OTT replying
Love it! Your hired! We got our /welcomecommittee clown!

You're going to make everyone happy here... You better... It's now your job
CHALLENGE #3a - making connections

Making connections is kinda what we're all here for, right?

Communities -> Key people -> Friends

I've met some of my favourite people on here thanks to /farcards token gated chats

Letting people know about these hidden spaces is the next way this channel can help!
The information is very useful for all users
CHALLENGE #2 - knowing who to know

Farcaster is awesome. And it's big

Following channels is great, but new people also need to know WHO to follow

And not just the owners like Deployer and Maretus, but the active, every day pillars of these communities too. That's where /welcomecommittee comes in
Getting started on Farcaster

CHALLENGE #1 - knowing where to go when you first get here (channels)

I have a lot of interests, and part of the reason I love being a part of online communities is that I get to connect with other people that share those interests.

when showing up to a new platform however, it can be like stepping foot in a shopping mall with 1000 stores and no idea where to start

The /welcomecommittee should act like a guide or map situated smack bang at the front of the mall, categorising channels into different interests (eg crypto could be /lp /degen and /airstack, community could be /success /appreciation and /starfire)

One map with a big YOU ARE HERE sign, and an arrow pointing new users in the right direction
Welcome frens!

I'm here to help ๐Ÿ˜

I joined Farcaster on 5th February 2024 which was 10 months, 3 days ago.
Since then, 68.2 percent of users have joined after me

Hereโ€™s a few more things to consider when getting started on Farcaster

- Interacting with AI agents. How to use them and etiquette. (Please donโ€™t tag multiple bots in someone elseโ€™s replies.)

- Creating authentic content. Casting stats frames and low quality ai images is spammy and low effort.

- Getting paid for your content. Minting your work, participating in Rounds, challenges, and bounties.

- Avoiding scams and keeping your digital assets secure. (Should probably be #1).
Over the next week I am going to dive into some of the key challenges that I've identified with getting started for those new the Farcaster and Warpcast, as well as how this channel hopes to address them

What I'm starting with -

CHALLENGE #1 - knowing where to go when you first get here (channels)
CHALLENGE #2 - knowing who to know when you find channels
CHALLENGE #3 - learning interaction etiquette and making connections
CHALLENGE #4 - getting visibility on what you cast
CHALLENGE #5 - figuring out the tipping tokens and how to join in

Have you experienced any of these yourself? What have I missed?
