Ok now we're talking. People who hate on Caymus are probably drinking it much too young. This one has aged beautifully.
This one (Groth 2009 reserve Oakville cab) was a little disappointing. Still a bit tannic and dark, but not a lot of body so doubt more time would have helped.
Idea: We rent a venue and do a natty wine meetup during ETH Denver
Porto wine tasting session tomorrow is canceled because too many participants are sick from flu or COVID 😭
Guys, Use masks and wash hands! What are your priorities? Mine was this Porto wine tasting evening...
Good g-d this is good
Tripping in alentejo, PT 🇵🇹
this wine is soo good
Do you guys think finishing this will turn me in to a Sun Goddess? Should I attempt?
Random takeaways on Argentinan wine after spending a week winetasting in Mendoza:

- exceptional value. Had a glass of $2 wine that blew me away
- they rarely age wines? Everyone I talked to much preferred younger vintages
- it's more cost effective to buy a bottle at a restaurant than 2 glasses of wine (?)
- high-elevation chardonnays taste more like chablis
- Catena Zapata is fantastic

I primarily drink new world wines, but after this trip I'll definitely be adding some bottles of Mendoza malbec to my repertoire.

This red wine is from the Abruzzo region in Italy.
Finally made it to my families house in Florida - this is by far my favorite room in the house- the Tuscany Cigar Wine Room. 10/10. Blessed Hurricane Milton/Helene didn't disrupt this work of art. Going to do a little early wine tasting. Wine tasting reviews to come (from a non sommelier

Are you a red or white wine drinker?
I'm heading to Mendoza for all of next week.

What are some of your favorite wineries in Argentina?

I already have tastings at Zuccardi and Catena Zapata reserved.

Réserve Spéciale Muscat Sec 2021

From Languedoc-Roussillon, one of the oldest wine regions in France and the world. It dates back to the 5th century BC, when the Greeks began to produce wine in this region. In 45 BC, after the Gallic Wars, Julius Caesar distributed the lands of Languedoc to his generals as a reward for their services. The Romans had a great influence on wine production in the region and the wines were exported throughout Europe.

For a long time, Languedoc was known for its extremely cheap wines. In recent decades, however, high-quality wines have been produced again.
Tonights lineup - Which bottle should I dive into tonight?
Drinking:
Vitello Old Vineyards IGP 2022
It’s a curve of Primitivo and Merlot.
From the south of Italy (Puglia)

Nothing too fancy, but delicious.
I started watching Drops of God last night.

Banger of a show so far, in particular for wine lovers.
Wine of the day

Paired with a few truffle dishes 🍷🍖
dry white (moscat blanc) from a volcanic island on the Aegean Sea in Greece - aged in amphoras and barrels. Mineral but complex at the same time - paired great with an aged Gouda
