As I was writing & rewriting today, Tufte's ink ratio concept suddenly came to mind.

This is a problem with all online writing. Some of my literary work has disappeared from the web and when that happens you lose proof of publication unless you can find an archive.

I used to hear people say that taking a break from a blog post helps you edit with fresh eyes and now I totally get it

I need to get better at writing down thoughts when I have them, not when I realize I’ve forgotten what I wanted to write down.
Rules for writing (or working) can be hit and miss, but Walter Benjamin's advice works because of the delivery of style (unmistakably his own) and a certain polished obliqueness in its pragmatism. You can apply many of these to working as an artist. After all...
