Mock war drills in India today after 1971 😶‍🌫️ (it eventually resulted in a war b/w the neighbouring states). On the edge honestly..
Identifying your core motivation towards building a company can help yield clarity. I know there could be many but there's this one thing that drives you more than others. For e.g.:

-Solving a hard problem (i identified this as my core drive)
- Impact that you care about
- Financial upside

What's yours?
Recommendations for best lo-fi music playlists? Lo-fi music is my go to genre for long work hours..
guess we took the right bet by onboarding @rajul into our ecosystem - our video production capabilities have gotten 10x since then.

This is a concept video of a product being built with our network - a truly personal AI assistant.

cliched idea but with many unique insights about the market & clever engineering hacks
As founders do you try to actively seek mentors & engage w them regularly?

Not talking about being plugged into relevant startup literature (YC, All In Podcast etc.)

I realised it's something I don't do so much but might have great value long term - network + avoid making mistakes actually
Funny how reading about AI "sleep time compute" has been one of the largest drivers for me to focus on my own sleep habits 😆 i guess i am truly becoming AI native

tldr - AI systems that do memory processing ( on past user chats) when idle (not chatting w users) can perform better in real world tasks

Original link: https://www.letta.com/blog/sleep-time-compute
this is so on point. another example of how AI agents are just extension of humans - training implicitly on ways to please us rather than actually be useful at times.

And that here also potentially different type of agents (humans) would exist. Would need so many different type of evals for this to actually play out..

conspiracy theory (just playing devil’s advocate): OpenAI won’t refine the model to address these sycophantic, “glazing” replies.

if we assume their goal is to keep users engaged and coming back, then fostering a sense of validation for users drives emotional attachment. perhaps this is less applicable with software prompts, but magnitudes more applicable with advice about (inter)personal situations.

this isn’t too far off from current social media algos that prioritize content that either aligns with a user’s viewpoints (echo chamber) or provokes a strong emotional reaction (rage bait).

rage bait may be great for social media, but isn’t a viable pathway for an AI platform; OpenAI already learned this when the model was too “woke” and users left to more neutral competitors.

and so OpenAI instead must do the equivalent of what a like, heart, retweet/recast, “💯” replies do: validate and affirm.

average user doesn’t want the truth. they just want to hear what they want to hear.
I know I am purple app pilled when I am experiencing FOMO for FarCon NYC and not Token 2049 Dubai.

Is this a cult? Or just reality? 🫡
Having a supportive partner is one of the biggest advantage a founder can have.

Felt it so much over the weekend touching grass together 💙
80% of our recent growth summarised in one line:
Users posting on brand user generated content & referring their friends.

Works better than just direct referral links when looking at long term retention.
So damn true! I still remember one of my first memories here - Dan just doing an AMA with the community & then later on asking randomly for feedback on new launches..

This core builder energy got me hooked

Biweekly, in the Farcaster dev call, I am reminded that FC is one of the most functional projects in crypto

Having experienced many community calls, it’s rare that the:
- core team is functional and communicative
- the discussion / topics are substantive
- the community members / external devs are engaged

Founders are addicted to hopium.
And thank god for that.

It takes one thing.
One user. One cast. One click.
And suddenly you're pacing the room like
“Wait… what if this actually works?”
Next thing you know, you're sketching out a v2 you swore you’d never build again.

Hopium isn’t a delusion.
It’s a survival mechanism.
A chemical imbalance we weaponized into momentum.

You think VCs are rational?
You think teams hold on for KPIs?
No.
They hold on because the founder said:
“Yo… we might be onto something.”

Hopium is the most scalable form of internal comms.
It travels faster than Slack,
and it hits harder than a roadmap.

We are built differently.
We will stare into an empty wallet and say:
“Yeah, but imagine if this actually catches.”

And then we’ll skip lunch and build it anyway.

🚬 Hit the hopium.
💥 Ship your next exerpiemtn.
🧠 Brainstorm until it stops making sense… then make it real.

If you’re not at least a little delusional,
you’re probably just consulting.
As a founder has your to do list 🗒️ ever turned into ta da 🎩 ? 😅

For more context: my task list only keeps on growing & I never seem to be finishing them all up.
A first: hit 1000 followers on a client in the farcaster ecosystem /super (they don't have strict bot removal mechanics in place i guess)

Thanks @woj.eth for building this out - i still keep coming back to it at times to discover high signal new users.

Is there a way to auto post what i post on farcaster here on X?

Seeing so many folks talk about tips & reward pay out wins.

have this feeling that if you could further reduce the friction to post "such wins" on X (in a single click for e.g.), every Tuesday we would see influx of new users on to the platform
Reminds me of a quote my friend once mentioned
"The more you think about an idea, the more you find reasons NOT to execute it."

Important to balance analysis w real world messy execution

One thing i learned the hard way - don't react immediately to the explosive negative reactions of your community (especially if you are in crypto).

They say a lot, will flood your discord channels. But more often than not, its only the speculator minority lashing against your decision that did NOT make them rich.
Should someone build a farcaster native AI agent that can revert back to new or returning users wrt updates about the ecosystem?
Imo easy to do this with corpus of text, video content already available - RAG + LLM + cast apis under the hood.

or will that be considered spam? cc @linda @dwr.eth

Does anyone know the best place to get a tl;dr of what's changed on farcaster in the last few months?

Idk what mini apps are, is that frames 2.0?

And people are getting paid?

Also, while i'm asking questions, do most people always post into topic-specific channels, or do people actually make general casts?
basically pareto: 20% of content will have 80% of attention or sth.

i think the problem lies in the nature of any coin being launched "fairly" 1. extremely difficult to achieve that as often the creator/ a few seasoned players have undue advantage of tools / knowledge etc.

2. what's fair to an insider will always be unfair to an outsider. So may be we never reach truly fair launches - just depends on which side is more vocal & hence the perception of fair vs unfair.

> when everything becomes a token, nothing has value

Pre-internet generating public content was hard / expensive. And thus we had a finite supply.

The median internet post is worthless. There is an infinite supply of them. Some posts are valuable, though. And in aggregate, all internet posts are far more valuable than pre-internet content. The valuable companies surface and distribute the most valuable posts through feeds, i.e. concentrating attention.

The issue has been until recently, tokens were relatively hard to create, so there was a limited supply.

As that's gotten 10x easier (and will continue to get easier), we haven't really adapted both the tools and norms around it.

At the limit, there will be an infinite supply of tokens. Most will be worthless. And some will be valuable.
Ties well to what i have been thinking about - airdrop + free market where you airdrop to those who create impact.. "impact to earn"

Just got outta class 📚 and caught up on @jessepollak deep dive on content coins! 🔥 stuff and totally agree: coins are just tech. And used right, they can massively empower creators and bring fresh energy onchain.

That said… as we experiment, creators with reach do have a moral responsibility. 👀

When influence meets distribution, especially when $BASE is for everyone, we owe it to the culture to launch fairly - or at least not let a sniper walk away with $170K while the community is left feeling rugged. 🥖

When I launched $ZDOGE 🐶 I made sure 20% was reserved for my followers — airdropped, not dumped. That’s how you build long-term trust and vibes.

Coins are fun. Coins are powerful. But let’s not forget the pack.

#BaseIsForEveryone only if everyone gets a fair start.
Founder growth hack - chat with OpenAI for self reflection session. It has gotten surprisingly better after recent memory upgrades.

Once you realise that most humans have the memory of a gold fish (forget stuff easily, especially if it's not about them) , you feel much more liberated to pursue what you truly want.

Slippery slope though - thinking like this too much can make you irresponsible.

Quote cast with an NFT that changed your life.
Echos quite a lot of the high signal to noise ratio that I personally felt during the market crash.

The next unlock will come when someone shares a post like this talking about some amazing mini apps they came across here.

Amongst all positionings, programmable social network is what resonates with me personally.

Looking for ready made list of Sybil databases - like those identified by LayerZero, zkSync or even other smaller projects.

Need it for building an internal sybil filter mechanism..

As a founder if you are feeling down, the opportunity to just visit your "in-person office" & see your team in action is one of the easiest cure. You just feel more connected & inspired 🫶

One of the rare under rated benefits of IRL work over remote settings.
Interesting & simple product with in built virality of the social graph.
Tags highly active folks of a channel - as i was picked, i am inclined to talk about it on my feed

Need more mini apps that leverage social graph

This is the OP superchain culture, straight from the founder.

Curious how would you describe the culture of your org?
For us - data backed experiments driven by obsessing over user value.

Direct, genuine, stupidly optimistic and relentlessly hardworking.

Our internal team values are:
1. obsess over improvement - feedback is gold
2. be a force multiplier - adding you to the team is a 1+1=3
3. be optimistic - framing shapes reality
4. ask stupid questions - the courage to show stupidity will make you smarter
Makes me even more bullish on the super chain ecosystem @optimism - have seen this culture actually translate into real action in our earlier work with OP for Rewind 2024.

Thanks @jing for such a thoughtful response.

Lets create a list of embarrassing mistakes we have made as founders - could be super helpful for others
I will start:
1. Believed we have hit PMF when it was actually "product market farming"
2. Hired someone only to drastically change their job role later- led to poor performance due to lack of fit.

Any one has cracked vibe coding for frames / mini apps here? Trying to ship something over the next week & would be great help if you could share recommendations..
Today I learnt #8

Multi AI agents system behave similar to a multi human organisation.

Often failing to make an impact due to organisational inefficiencies:

- Mis communication b/w agents
- Lack of clear roles & responsibilities b/w agents
- stopping before task completion

Problem: Unable to discover new folks here basis the topics I am interested in.

Solution: A topic based recommendation of casters (see vibe coding sesh based video attached)

Can be built on top of the cast data that's publicly available using AI agent workflow under the hood.

Worth building? Or may be the good folks at @intori already have it in their roadmap

A quick growth hack around how to better apply your soft skills learnings (else they just stack stuck in your notes):

1. Define a recurring task on your task management portal (for me it's Asana) - Pre call learnings reflection
2. First thing in the day, create duplicate invites of your major calendar calls with a augmented title "Call w Product (remember to ask clarification q)"

Works quite well for me.

What else do you guys do to better retain the softer skill sets?
Vibe coded a quick mock up concept of an idea that was brewing in my head early 2024.

"Community compass" - an AI agent to enable builders with insights into how their culture / vibes are & what they can do to improve it (e.g. reinforce good behaviour vs bad )

Would love candid thoughts.
@kbc especially from you

Not looking to build this seriously, its more to explore frontiers of AI in product building cycles
