When I read this copy, what appeals to me is the idea of being able to control the algorithm behind what I see. I think decentralization is one important ideal but also so is visibility into why you are seeing what you are seeing and sovereignty of not just your account but the algorithm that is serving you content.
I previously assumed Bluesky’s left-wing growth was by complete accident but if you look at their copy, the emphasis on moderation will actually resonate more with folks that lean more authoritarian. Think safe spaces, reddit policing etc.

I see this a lot with founders. Using rejection as a chance to publicly dunk, esp when the other product is already under fire, can actually backfire.

here is the story of the most elaborate and expensive hi-fi system that @brileigh and I have ever heard:
we met this hi-fi dealer—let’s call him Larry—when visiting nyc after I inquired about a particular brand of electronics that only they and two other dealers in the U.S. happen to carry (Spectral Audio). more about Spectral another time, though.
we were brought to a smaller room than this one and another staff member set up our modest demo of a CD player, preamplifier, stereo amplifier, and floorstanding speakers.
after about 30min of listening, Larry burst into the room with his walker clanking loudly. he had recently had surgery on his leg or foot, and he joked that he was considering bringing a mattress to the hi-fi showroom so that he could sleep here instead of commuting.

last night I was trying to find a boating show (don’t ask) and misread the ad of where to see it on justwatch and paid 10 bucks for a crunchyroll subscription

Loose thoughts I haven’t made the time to put into proper casts:
- Content coins and Rodeo have similar goals. Hiding charts in the app and USDC as default is so so helpful for normies.
- Hopeful Base can get through this phase. I think the general market uncertainty has made this launch even more difficult. You need so much confidence and conviction to be both early and right.
- We are still missing fundamental DeFi apps like making payments without limits, mitigating credit score approvals, etc. on international scale
- Leaderboard being so central to my experience of purple app doesn’t feel good but I recognize it as a temporary solution for user retention.

god gives his toughest battles (OpenAI monthly invoice incl. tax charged in USD so I have to manually convert to CAD based on each invoices USD/CAD rate that I only see on my bank statements) to his strong shoulders (me and the rest of us poor Canadians)
