Scrolling through this channel it’s disappointing to see the overwhelming majority of images are of women—scantily clad, or idealized. Given a magical machine that can make any picture at all, are beautiful, slim, young (usually white or Asian) women all that we can imagine?
As an artist, have you ever asked yourself: why am I placing a conventionally pretty, young woman in this image? Why not a man? Or an old woman? Or two teenaged boys? Or a dog?
If you’re sexually oriented towards women, are you making art or expressing your sexual fantasies? If you’re a woman, is she meant to be you? If so, do you look anything like her? Or do you wish you did? Is that why you put her there?
I’m not going to lecture about “the male gaze.” Either you know about it already or you can look it up. But I hope people will think and look at little more critically at what people who call themselves AI artists—including themselves—are making.

After scrolling through the channel this morning, I was tempted to say something spicy. I saved it as a draft to think about whether I want to post it. It’s not really anything I haven’t said before, but some may take it badly/personally. How interested are we in honest discussion here? Or are we just posting pictures?

I just noticed I have no degen tip points today. Yesterday I did. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it a bug? I have 10k in the vault. And I didn’t hear of any changes.

I have an Ethereum question but I can’t cast in /ethereum (man this channel stuff is getting old!) So I have to ask my followers: what’s the reason for web apps having so much trouble communicating with wallet apps on iPhones? Is it the wallets? Is it iOS? Is it the libraries used to connect with wallets? I get about a 50% success rate but don’t know where the problem lies. Anyone?

I am toying with starting a channel but I don’t want to overcommit myself. I’ve got a lot going on already.
I want the channel to exist and if it does I would rather be guaranteed to be let in. Starting & owning it is one way! But not necessarily the wisest. 🤔

Wow the spam is getting pathetic. 3-number names and answers in a different language (and character set) than the original post. Yikes! (There were more, this is all I could fit in two pics.) The post was about a rocket landing. I’m scared to translate any of these!

a) start a new genart project (project setup, VCS setup, etc.)
b) transform the project to work in different environments (fxhash, ab or whatever
I’ve tried fx(stdio), which I liked. Especially for batch generation, but it’s out of date and I have to change everything for fxhash. I can do it in the fxhash boilerplate, though I don’t use all the fx(lens) stuff to start. I’ve been using Tweakpane for fiddling with params. It’s better for experimenting. Can I make these things play together? We’ll find out this afternoon.
I have been using AIJS.io by @tezumie but unfortunately it’s cumbersome when using ES6 modules (he made it work—thank you!) but it’s been causing me trouble I’d rather not deal with right now. I just want to write my code in WebStorm. But I haven’t found a really fast way to go from “I wanna try this!” To just typing my code. Sigh. I’m missing something.

There’s no Ethereum-dev channel anymore. It was dead so it got retired. Where’s a good place for questions about ETH dev. Especially n00b questions. Is there a discord or something? Any clues appreciated.

Do we need a Science Fiction channel? One more about books than endless Star Wars/Star Trek and other TV and movie stuff? (That gets boring fast. If you want to blather on about SW that should be its own channel.)
I’m just so mad I feel like I need to hit something. Nothing is going right today. Everything is going wrong. I’m frustrated af and can’t calm down. My cat is a feral rescue and he’s got issues and he keeps attacking my right arm which is an ugly mass of wounds and scars and I CANNOT MAKE HIM STOP. And my $degen coins can’t be unlocked and only God knows why. And I’m in pain. A lot of it. And my diet isn’t working. At all. I need something to go right. If only for the pain to calm down. Anything, really. Thanks for the venting space. 😔
Please. Somebody. What is the trick to unlocking $degen? Why won’t it allow me to do it? This is incredibly frustrating. I can’t find help anywhere. My day’s been crappy enough already. 😔
Can anyone help me with unlocking my degen? Today is the day, but unlock is not an option and it’s giving me a nonsense warning about my wallet. I want to unlock them, so please help.
