update: i think they might be sunflowers... there's a birdfeeder nearby that was full of black oil sunflower seeds all summer
today i brought my sansevieria inside, she's been outside for the summer but it's getting too cold for her

i worked as a personal trainer for a bit a long time ago and i had this kinda grumpy but funny older lady client and every time i gave her some sort of positive feedback on her progress she'd cackle and recite this silly little verse she said her school teacher used to chant:

time for a dev log, been hacking away over here.
noise is fun and spooky to play with so i wanted to use it for some artsy stuff.
this week i made an algo that uses perlin noise to generate a colourful image based on an inputted number.
it makes a smooth but random pattern by using the number as a seed to produce perlin noise values for each pixel as hsv. then the hsv is mapped to an rgb value so it has colour.
i think it could look fab in a frame, hope to share smth soon 💚

i spent some time yesterday in the heart of my fave city:
halifax, nova scotia.
there's a little retired steamship tied up alongside that i think deserves her own cast; she's such a cute spunky little thing.
this is css acadia.
she launched in 1913 as a northern survey ship. some of the work that was done onboard significantly improved our charts of the north atlantic.
she also served in both world wars and is the only ship still floating today that survived the halifax explosion of 1917.
so she's seen some shit... but today she's well taken care of and i think still has a couple of ship's cats keeping an eye out for rats and standing watch over her 💚
