They say that history repeats itself in a spiral, and this is probably true. Sixty years ago, an acetylene lamp was lit on the dome of the Krokhino church, ignited by a spark, and its light was amplified by three powerful reflectors. Locals recall that the light from the Krokhino lighthouse was visible as far as the mouth of the Kovzha River โ 68 kilometers away! That lighthouse not only ensured the safe navigation but also preserved the church building.
