I often like to use stupidly small brushes to paint
1. because I'm a self-taught painter, and never had someone tell me to get my act together
2. I'm detail-orientated and not particularly efficient
3. I quite like the resulting texture

Before the colour gets added. This is where the hard work lies. Once the underpainting is finished to a decent level, then it’s smooth sailing from there (usually)

Before I started using acrylics, I used to create a graphite drawings on watercolour paper, then lock down with fixative, then build up colours with watercolours. It was a looong process
