WIP - The still image is lifted from a work in progress and sourced from the films "Neon Demon", "Stranger by the Lake" and "Beach Rats" - all lensed by female cinematographers. I thought it would be interesting to see what visual path this intentional source limitation might create.
WIP - sourced from the 1999 film "Beau Travail", directed by Claire Denis with cinematography by Agnès Godard.
WIP - Working on my first ultra-widescreen split-video piece. Duration of 1 minute, playing various digitally glitched video clips off/against each other. Still-image sourced from the 1997 Ridley Scott film "G.I. Jane" - processed through Adobe After Effects + Final Cut Pro.
WIP - still-image sourced from the 1988 comedy-horror film "Brain Damage" (a love story about a loveable alien parasite and his affable addict host) 😆
WIP -- clip sourced from the 2016 Argentinian film "Taekwondo" directed by Marco Berger, processed through Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
WIP - still-image sourced from a 1982 Wella Balsam shampoo commercial, upscaled with AI and processed through Adobe After Effects + Final Cut Pro.
WIP - Still-image from an Australian shampoo commercial from 1997. Processed through Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
MOAR WIP -- another shampoo ad from the 1970s. processed through Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
WIP (yeah, I know, this project is taking for ev er) -- sourced from the 2001 film "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider"
WIP - sourced from the 2012 short film "O Corpo de Afonso" (aka "The King's Body") by Portuguese director João Pedro Rodrigues.
WIP - I believe a theme is emerging here.😂 Clip is sourced from the 2022 Portugese film "Fogo-Fátuo" (aka 'Will-o'-the-Wisp') -- a musical romantic comedy directed by João Pedro Rodrigues.
Well fuck, I thought there might be at least *one* Ken Russell die-hard out there. I guess not? He used to be considered a somewhat avant-garde, boundary-pushing film director in his time, but by today's standards maybe he's a bit of a tired old boomer.
WIP - still-image sourced from Ken Russell's 1969 film "Women In Love" because what's a late-sixties classic-literature art movie without two best mates wrestling naked in front of a roaring fire? 🤷‍♂️
More WIP - again, part of a larger video collage project in progress. This still-image is sourced from merging a clip from the 1960 film "Psycho" with video gameplay from Robert Yang's 2015 indie game "Rinse and Repeat".
Still-image from a 1970s shampoo commercial that I've processed through Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro and a free web app (Dominik's moving dots animation-generator), just for kicks.
Still-image from a WIP. Sourced from the 2019 French film "Synonymes" (aka 'Synonyms'). Processed through Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
WIP - Sourced from the film "American Psycho (2000). I'm working on a collage of film and videogame clips to inflict on everyone at the Tez Montreal party in August. I'll probably be scrambling to finish it right up until I hop on my flight.
One of the advantages to working within the highly restrictive file size limitations of the NFT sales platforms has been relatively painless rendering times. Now that I've decided to just create whatever video length I want whether I can mint it or not, the rendering is painfully slooooooow ... 😭
This "Forward" piece by @strano.eth is just so so so so so so good, I can hardly stand it. The slight flourishes of colour are the icing on the already deliciously glitch-infused cake. I just had to share it here. Again. Because ugh (with all its implied meanings), and how?!!😍 😭
WIP - Glitching out with "Demon City Shinjuku" (1988)

Today I read that the Pet Shop Boys are still touring and that they attribute their career longevity to YouTube and social media, where all of pop-culture is mashed up into a big ball of now.
