4. Governance quorum

Discovered the joy of archery as a sport recently. It's kinda like golf in many ways, but like cooler?
Couldn't make it to the LA stuff, but seems like there was a lot of thinking and talking irl about the future of Nouns. Would love to hear some of folks' takeaways from the conversation!

Many months ago, this team received a higher athletics sponsorship to win the ultra category of the Kentucky Ragnar Relay.

Yesterday, the six of us placed first with a time of 24h59m for a 200 mile relay!
🚨 Dope job alert!
where i cast from
gm thanks for the doing the hard work of charting a path here! a few questions:

1. what kind of tax obligations should the DAO expect? would auction revenue be taxable? And will the DAO owe any back taxes?

2. how will sanctions checks work for bidders in practice? typically this involves KYC, but the post seems to suggest that the check can be done post hoc via chainalysis? If so, what happens if we find that a bidder was in fact a sanctioned entity?

3. have we considered removing the fork mechanism and NOT replacing it with a refund? the currently proposed refund mechanism means that the DAO is effectively extending downwards price protection to bidders
sales is good for the founder soul
dutch auction price decline for basenames was way too fast imo. builders be building. by the time many of us saw the announcement on twitter, many of our names were already squatted T_T

Agora is a track team with a software hobby. It’s only Wednesday!
paging maybe @manan and @rish? we're using swagger right now, but curious if there are better alternatives out there

See: https://vote.optimism.io/api_v1

also selfishly would love the UI to be slightly nicer out of the box too lol
Are there ENS brokers out there the same way there are domain brokers? Looking for some help acquiring a domain
i don't really understand the string of founder-only acquisitions that have been happening lately in the AI world.

isn't this basically the acquirer saying: 'hey here's a dumptruck full of cash for you to fuck over your investors and employees'

Seeing a lot of inflammatory takes on the latest Compound finance proposal so here's my view as someone who works day in and day out on this space:

What happened?

This is not a technical governance attack, but rather someone executing a PE-style play based on the rules as they are defined. It might be unsavory, but it is permissible within the rules of the system.

Who's to blame?

1. The governance system is set up naively where large transfers of funds are just as easy to make as small ones. This is an especially tricky balance for lending protocols that need quorum and threshold to be low enough to enable routine risk management.

2. The delegates did not intervene in what is at the very least a suspicious, if not possibly malicious proposal.
dumb question: how do i long cast?
Goal is to PR this time every week for the next 8 weeks
