Looking at my pictures from 5 years ago when I was at the peak of anemia, I think I really had anemia blindness 🙈 I looked so ghostly and drawn without makeup, it's crazy.
Thankfully I got an anxious mom who dragged me to the doctor when she had the chance. When the doctor saw my iron levels she asked me how I even managed to walk to an appointment, they were so low 😬
I had to pay for this life lesson by drinking a nasty, metallic, vomit-inducing treatment 2 times a day for 2 months. Thank god it worked, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
