Fascinating
"When an account with 219 million followers interacts with a smaller one — not by blocking or arguing, but simply by muting — the consequences are immediate. The smaller account’s visibility drops from 150,000 views to 20,000 overnight. No notice. No rule broken. Dimmed into irrelevance."

Workshopping something to explain the network effects behind Bittensor (a la Sacks's famous Uber napkin sketch). Thoughts?
I've been reading up on various Distributed Training research endeavors. Inspired by @, here is what I have come across.

my 3 token2049 takeaways:
1/ there aren't enough credible AI-adjacent crypto projects with live tokens to match retail interest. after $TAO $AKT $NEAR the list falls off pretty drastically.
2/ blockspace is a solved problem.
3/ bespoke events > large catch-alls.

Exo is building Apple Intelligence, but in an open, sovereign and decentralized fashion. Super proud of this team!

Excited for the launch of Bitmind's subnet, an AI powered "community notes" platform starting with the focus on image deepfake detection.

Alex was an applied scientist at Amazon and built distributed training systems during his time there. Given his experience, he methodically debunks several myths related to decentralized training.

I am excited to announce that Canonical is co-leading an investment in Tensorplex. Tensorplex is focused on building infrastructure for decentralized AI networks, starting with the Bittensor ecosystem.

I've talked to a number of founders about wanting to launch a $TAO subnet. I've identified a rubric (VCs, amiright?) for what would make for a successful subnet based on taostats.
Some subnets are clearly more productive than others and well suited for Bittensor.

I can't help but think that the Vesuvius Challenge could make for an epic
@bittensor_ subnet. The incentive mechanism of subnets seems ripe for a challenge like this.

Shower thoughts: interesting framework to think about Subnets in the context of Bitcoin:
- Bitcoin relies on miners implementing Proof of Work for rewards.
- Bittensor Subnets utilize Proof of Useful Work, where code completing useful tasks (typically machine learning) are rewarded.

Given the number of times I’ve accidentally typed Buttensor instead, I think we need a memecoin by this name.
I plan to host a twitter space on /decentralizedai every 2 weeks. The goal is to chat with builders and experts in the space.

Is there a frame for POAP (foursquare?) x Farcaster? Thinking about how SXSW was such a catalyst for Foursquare adoption back in the day, and #ETHDenver could similarly help farcasters with where people are congregating.

I went down the rabbit hole of talking to my 10 yo about how every Friday we'd trek to the local Blockbuster to pick a movie. I think I lost her at late fees...
Been thinking a lot about tokenization of open source AI models. Models as NFTs could lead to composability, open-source collaboration and value creation.
(for better or for worse) Imagine the possibilities behind models as on-chain financial instruments.

I had this made for my friend for his milestone birthday. Can we laugh about this yet or is it still “too soon”?

Coming off the heels of OpenAI dev day: AI based agents are getting even more attention. I’ve been trying to think about how the blockchain can support AI agents.

Starting to see a real bifurcation among crypto founders:
those who believe crypto is nothing but a speculative platform (and that's all it can ever be) vs those who want to see non-speculative utility emerge on-chain.

The importance of fully diluted valuation (FDV) is a self-fulfilling prophecy, i.e., if the majority believes it's important, then it becomes important.
