I believe that the 'reward' needs to be one degree removed from the activity itself. Any rewards I’ve experienced in crypto have come from building friendships. Authenticity fosters community, and community generates value.
When value is directly tied to posted content, it leads to content bloat. The truly interesting people get pushed down the feed in favour of listicle creators and pointless hot takes.
This isn’t just a crypto issue—it’s a problem across all social media. Most people only have 1-2 genuinely interesting things to share each day, but the algorithm demands they post 10+ times daily. In my opinion, Degen is the closest to solving this, as the discretionary reward is in the hands of the audience. The farming required is a small price to pay for people to support their favourite niche creators. Moxie, on the other hand, rewards all the wrong types of content, much of which is just content about Moxie itself.
