During last week’s Cryptoart Question of the Week in the /cryptoart channel, we shared a range of thoughts on how artists define and experience success.

I captured that discussion in today's blog post.

Have you had a chance to answer this week's question on defining success as an artist?
forgot how touchy the political ideologues are on twitter. some people really do live in delulu land. anyway, i've been really spoiled by the mostly high-quality discourse on @warpcast. there is a high concentration of critical thinkers here. i think i'll stay here a little longer.
Someone with the account TATR posted this comment on the last-ever /secondrealm newsletter. They get me! 🥔
I'm beginning to wonder if there's @warpcast change/feature fatigue. Organic engagement and visibility were already hamstrung by the changes in January. So my expectations reset. But now I'm seeing even more of a slowdown AGAIN. Is this just me? Is my content really that bad? I mean, it could be. Certainly not out of the realm of possibility.
In response to the latest #CAQOTW, @garycartlidge said that "impact on audience" is his first measure of success. Do you consider the audience as part of your success metrics as an arists? And if so, in what ways?
note to self: remember that the process of trial and error… involves error.
still thinking about the best way to cultivate my "digital garden." i have bits and pieces all over the place rn. but it's more of a workflow thing that i need to figure out with my hand-written notes, index cards, and notebooks. 📒
In the recent #CAQOTW, @bashobits mentioned prioritizing learning as his North Star for success, using feedback to fuel creativity without relying on approval. Does learning and feedback play a role in your art practice?
stay vigilant. stay mindful. don't click links without investigating first. Opsec to the highest extremes. it's always better to be safe than sorry. cybercrime can happen to anyone. also don't keep an image of your seedphrase in a random folder in Google Drive.

In the recent #CAQOTW, @thedude talked about balancing personal growth and community-building. Does they play a role in how you define success as an artist?
perfection is in the tiny mistakes.
❓Cryptoart Question of the Week ❓

Success in the art world is often measured by fame, gallery shows, or sales, but for many artists, true success lies in creative fulfillment, audience impact, or personal growth.

How do you define success as an artist and how has that definition evolved over time?
