Been off work most of August :}} Just getting back into the day job again - setting up/testing new volumetric video studio. So hopefully more of this in the next few months - earlier this year we volumetrically captured 9 amazing artists for AR experience at Venice Biennale 2024 :}}

The move into AI as an art medium felt very much like a natural continuum of my artistic journey. Iβve experimented with various AI and generative adversarial network (GAN) tools since 2021. My approach has been low tech, fueled by curiosity.

Experimenting with real-time DIY projection mapping, using simple Isadora nodes with generative sound activated graphics via TouchDesigner and an NDI Livestream from a phone camera, all from a single projector :))
Why Mesh Painting ?
Well I push acrylic paint through perforated aluminum mesh, resulting in a pixelated image, which resembles a cross between a tapestry and a lithography print. This process, similar to screen printing, originated from playful attempts to manually replicate the offset lithography printing process used for billboard posters (before their digital transition).
However, I had to pause creating physical mesh paintings for some time due to the loss of my studio space and the unavailability of specific acrylic paint and perforated aluminum mesh material. Later, in early 2021, I started experimenting with digital tools to replicate my mesh painting process.
