Presence in performance means walking a tightrope of execution, precision & fragility for all eyes to see.
To physicalize this experience, I wear 8" platforms heels. It's a shifting of the body into a gladiatorial stance of radical vulnerability.
I walk on cathedrals, hollow spaces between my body & the ground, the closest thing to levitation.
It allows the energy field to expand. Your sensibilities in spaces are magnified.
You are sensed & you are watched. The further one goes in, the further the branches hook & connect & spark one's emotions.
Being on stage is the ultimate reveal. Nothing stays hidden.

Truth was power
There's something about taking AI art to the street that feels full circle.
From presence to dissolution to presence again - a primal root & sensibility becomes a new growth that cannot be stopped.
It is a network that communicates with its surrounding. It doesn't wait for anyone's permission to engage, it grows in the in-betweens, it intercepts & entangles & stops people in their path. It's rogue & it's stealth. It's an offering & a giving, a breaking down of the ego. Leaving a trail of beauty, leaving the world more beautiful than the way you found that it was.
These are all the things that I strive for in my practice.
In the last year, it has been a personal ritual of mine, to become a shadow & leave the light through art

This Was Presence
In physical space, I am a performer: I make vessels for others to experience themselves, and I disappear. It is a death, a chaos, a harrowing of the ground. No one would choose what they find there, it can only be allowed to emerge. Here, in latent space, I am performed: the act of disappearance becomes a shadow cast on a screen.
These are mementos mori for the things we would never choose, the shadows cast by the light of presence.
If experience is mediated by algorithms that are perfectly tailored to one's preferences and expectations, what becomes of the things one cannot create with intention, the difficult and cathartic things that emerge only despite oneself? What will become of presence?
