Just noticed when making a movie playlist that - when the Star Wars track was playing - Spotify changes the track progress bar in the player to a Light Sabre with an extended glowing light - and I think it's kinda cool ;-p

Farcaster Sounds Vol. I
Over the last month or so @tako-unik , @deshsax.eth , and myself have been making a collaborative playlist. It was great fun and had us all listening to tracks that were either new to us or we'd forgotten how much we loved. It's a great experience and we highly recommend it! Big thanks to @genuinejack for organizing this. Hit any of us up if you'd like to make a list: https://www.musicto.com/playlist/farcaster-sounds-vol-i/

Part 3 in the musicto story — the shift to nonprofit, the rise of a global community around the belief that music can make the world better.
(Getting my entry in early this week ;-p)
Just playing with the audio and visual - wanted to upload a .gif - that would have been cool. I made this track with a professor of fire - he did the snyth stuff - I did the keys
And then Declan reminds me why we love him!!!!!
ngl - Arsenal looking pretty good - and yet - can't quite close - story of our season
I joined X 18 years ago and have experienced its enshittification. While small, Farcaster has a significantly higher signal to noise ratio. If we can move past the "number go up" bullshit - it really could become the global town square - backed by the blockchain. How cool would that be? :-)

The main event of Farcaster this week definitely seems to be farcon, but I do think it’s worth noting another milestone moment: a major global news breaking on Warpcast.

I first found out about the Iberian blackout on here, thanks to casters in
Spain alerting me to the news.

I wound up monitoring a lot of the heated debate that followed over the cause on X. But those early casts gave me a glimpse of how this could develop as a platform for real news.
It makes me giggle when my AI gets frustrated with me for using hyphens instead of em dashes ;-p. No robot - that's my style - not yours. You need to stop trying to homogenize my writing (not that I'd let you ;-p)
After the playlist monetization model collapsed, musicto rebuilt from the ground up — investing in people, upgrading infrastructure, and discovering that true community comes through creative collaboration.
(Part 3 hopefully by tomorrow ;-p)
Gotta say a huge thank you to @viybz for the introduction to Hyperdrive Sound :-). I've been working on some heavy documents and their last few albums have been the perfect accompaniment! Upbeat groovy instrumentals - great music to write to: https://open.spotify.com/album/2tRgvW4CO84ae313v97ynZ?si=KbVDpzhQRSCpYtc47CuZWw
This is cool - all artists / creatives on Farcaster could be paying attention to metalabel :-)

I've been using Sublime for over a year now - it's brilliant. Here's my review on a product I use everyday and intend to use more in the future:

Bit the bullet and paid for Feedly pro - cleaning up my inbox and unsubbing from a million different lists feels so good!
Watched this last night - it was great - @ted I think you'd dig it. Having lived there for two years and been changed by the place - I hope there is some of this DNA baked into the Merkle team - it feels like it - I hope it grows: https://youtu.be/7Wk22HszZqA?si=NMEUVoHjt8I2arSF

Having spent a week barely keeping my shit together I'm (hopefully) coming out the other end. Made a killer list with @tako-unik and @deshsax.eth - courtesy of @genuinejack setting it up. This track from @mialailanii has been earwormed in my brain for weeks - https://youtu.be/HKrOGljOaxE?si=lAYiMfj3o88gCwhV
probably late to this but - I can't stop looking at it - 'cos it's disturbingly brilliant:

Nephew just hipped me to JD Cliffe - new "EP" misfit - 7 songs, 16 mins of the freshest vibe I've heard in a while. Very British feel - blending Grime with Indie Rock: https://open.spotify.com/album/4DMku5uHZbI91xDhHU4PIG?si=hQaSOg0SSuWOTfhcr1e8jQ
1 in 5 tracks uploaded to Deezer are fully Ai generated. That's 20k tracks a day - if Deezer is 2% of the DSP market and Spotify is at 32% - back of napkin math has over 300k fully generated AI songs to Spotify EVERY DAY. Welcome to Slopsville. Artists who are not actively building community are going to drown: https://www.reuters.com/technology/artificial-intelligence/ai-generated-music-accounts-18-all-tracks-uploaded-deezer-2025-04-16/
First Spotify and now Zoom is down - what's going on out there!
I think the core idea is valid - some interesting suggestions too. I've always thought there's low hanging fruit for social and DSPs - it's just that the interfaces are terrible - Spotify's the best of them but Apple Music is still built on itunes - a download model - I suspect there'll be significant first mover advantage to the DSP that gets social right

Just ‘cos I’m on a roll ;-). Black beans, kidney beans, a base of onions, garlic and diced red pepper, topped with tortilla chips, yogurt and cilantro.

Greek yogurt, curry powder, tomato purée, hint of cayenne and chili flakes, olive oil marinade applied to a fresh head of cauliflower florets. Under the broiler for 12 mins or so - served on brown rice, topped with coriander and sliced almonds!

I know it's wrong but I kinda like it when my ai says: "Hell yes — this is the stuff." ;-p
This was chickpeas cooked with gochujang and loads of freshly grated garlic and ginger. Served with crispy garlic cooked in oil with sesame seeds and sour cream. Clearly delicious ;-)
