Day done, bowl taken, kick back and go on a trip with Hermanos Gutiérrez: https://youtu.be/es-X-VxjJiw?feature=shared
( @otismakesmusic think you'd dig this;-p)
Digging this dark Indie rock vibe - loving her vocal delivery - feels apropos for Halloween: https://open.spotify.com/track/7fUHI7CTVrbHJ37SiDCIxx?si=881a38af902f4e66
This needs serious editing - but - the channel is called first draft right? ;-p I have the idea but its wooly - my goal for next week is to tighten this significantly: https://andrewmccluskey.com/posts/creative-collaboration-the-musicto-community
Played Crokinole this weekend - great fun ;-)
New Dawes album out yesterday - I'm a big fan of Taylor Goldsmith's lyrics. Haven't really felt the last couple of albums but on third listening there's a few tracks on here that are growing on me. Love the story of "The Game": https://open.spotify.com/track/0wTYZMOUZ7gMqKrtd5R0OH?si=82851ff1c25d402b
Oliver likes to read over my shoulder:
I remember YouTube revolutionizing how music was shared and distributed - Limewire and Napster were for the geeks, but YouTube was where the devaluing of music went mainstream. TikTok are using the same playbook - lie, cheat, divide and conquer - they're dismantling the traditional music economy (publishing, licensing, etc) one clip at a time. I believe the best solution for independent artists is to move on-chain ;-p https://musictechpolicy.com/2024/10/11/the-workers-united-scabs-and-strikebreakers-at-tiktok/
Listening to the many such cases podcast from the beginning - https://open.spotify.com/show/2hblb5N6kt3HvGvB1xkkRy?si=0658ed08fc25482d - halfway through episode 5 - super interesting to hear @ted and @nonlinear.eth discuss channels - particularly in light of recent changes. They were both pretty prescient back on March 26th. As I see it (with still much to learn) - hypersub has become the 3rd party tool negating the need for warpcast to build channel payments into the protocol - at least - that's how it looks to me.

When we launch the musicto channel, hypersub will likely be how we manage access.
Bugger! Just saw the first Christmas commercial of the year. Should be illegal until post Halloween (preferably post Thanksgiving!)
A warm Farcaster welcome to @abdallahharati Definitely check out the /music channel - also /musicians - :-). Abdallah is a musician championing the Brazilian vibe - and the vibe is good ;-p
My playlist partner on the amapiano playlist shared this with me. The opening had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up - the show is pure joy: https://youtu.be/-E783H9mJJc?si=NzuZMzC4IPY67pI9
I'm collaborating on an amapiano playlist and my knowledge of the genre and scene is pretty limited. if anybody can recommend some tracks and artists to listen to I'd be super grateful - the less well known the better :-)
This week I'm looking to develop the white paper for the musicto foundation - along with learning more about on-chain music and the Farcaster ecosystem. Here's a rough outline of the "Why" https://andrewmccluskey.com/posts/thinking-white-paper
Just made the transition from Logic Pro to Pro Tools - my brain hurts but damn I'm excited for the future :-)
Bowser is an Arsenal fan
Working in 83 bpm for the prime series - yes a Lava lamp is essential ;-)
Just got roasted by my own casts on Farcaster. I do indeed have a dad bod - can't stop laughing

This is part 4 of a 4-part series reflecting on episode 11 of the @cooprecs Podcast: Midnight Diner Recap with @ted.
The Inevitable Future for Artists: I was chatting with a metal musician recently—one of those guys crafting angry, punch-you-in-the-face songs. He’s been doing it for years. He was thinking about making an app to help book shows more easily.
This is brilliant - guy shazam’s a random pole in The Mission. Reggaeton def taking over ;-) https://walzr.com/bop-spotter

If we accept there's value to having music on-chain, we inevitably get to the question: "Well, what's it worth then?"

"This is part 2 of a 4-part series on episode 11 @cooprecsprecs Podcast: Midnight Diner Recap with @ted. What do you do if you have a great idea and people dismiss it because they think it’s a scam? Even worse, they run screaming from it? 🤷‍♂️ tl;dr: Make it cool."
Question for @ghostlinkz.eth - and first off - thank you for creating the music channel - I'm finding new music and having a good time sharing. :-). I'm new to warpcast but - is there a best practice on sharing the same casts across multiple channels? Like - if you had a cast that would fit well in /music but also in /dogs - would you quote recast the original cast from one channel into the other - or duplicate the cast or is this behavior frowned upon? I'd love to know your view - thank you - Andrew
I've been experimenting with posting tracks from one of my favorite playlists, made with Andie in the Philippines and Willmore from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Thinking we'll prob do this on a musicto channel but if you'd like to learn about this playlist you can check it out here: https://www.musicto.com/playlist/groovy-music-of-the-world-i/
