Few more hours of my first step in Rodeo. Ok ok @artmonochrome I admit joining was a lot of fun 🙏😁
These were a lot of fun WIPs back in Jan. SDFs, run through a line culling routine intended for plotting. The end result is lots of very short lines (many only as dots), with no overlap.
Studying the algorithm
Rainy weekend here in Sydney, time for some plotting! As usual my generative figures, A3 plot, 2hours with a Rotring 0.25mm.
Something different, the colours and the soft blurs remind me of encaustic art.
From Jaq Chartier's website -> https://jaqbox.com/
"Inspired in part by images of DNA gel electrophoresis, Chartier investigates the migration of various stains through layers of paint and acrylic gels."
Hi Aaron, here's my cast from yesterday - good timing! 🙏
I really want to get into cyanotypes, love the trial-n-error and the 'wow' moment when it all comes together!

JS Code > A3 Plot > Cyanotype > JPEG (Or digital to analogue to digital!)

Attempted a few of these today, need to really overexpose in order for the tracing paper and glass plate to be removed from the end-result.
My muse.... I'm starting to wonder if I just do curated instead of purely random mint, whenever it happens
Well well - Apart from an unhealthy reddit addiction I need to address, looks like X is falling off the screentime list 🎩
A favourite is Singaporean artist Yeo Shih Yun. Her 20+ year career spans Traditional Eastern Ink / Experimental painting / Silk-screen / Abstract Expressionism / Robotics / NFTs / AI, she's done it all! Downloadable PDF on her site https://www.shihyunyeo.com/my-book Could describe her work as adventurous + spontaneous
I have 18 remaining works from "Accidental Days", a series on objkt. Would love for them to find a home! If keen, just tip whatever amount you feel comfortable with (+ tez wallet and preference mint #) 🎩 🙏

DrLee's artfinds channel. Most of us from tezos will know the collection he's amassed, one of the most supportive and down-to-earth collectors (and a gen-artist when he finds the time) out there 👇
A Rain Ritual sold overnight - Nearly 2 years since its release
Am not sure when I'll revisit landscapes, for a time I was all landscaped-out..... But one day the rains will return ⛈️ ⛈️
"Computational Drawing" by Carl Lostritto http://lostritto.com/book
This is currently my favourite genart book. It's a hard read from a Professor of Architecture, but is packed with deep insight and gorgeous plotted works. The chapter on depth perception is literally a compass for me right now.
Omg how did my daily allowance drop from 450 to 160 😭 How to lift this please
Time has slowed down for me - I tweak a line of code here and there, generate thousands of WIP outputs and file them away. No pressing need to finish, no self-imposed schedule. Maybe that's the best way, to let things percolate through this bear market....
Encoded siren..... After a few weeks off, back to work
Phyllotaxis arrangement - I took this out of the codebase last week, was thinking the results were too risky. Less than a third of the outputs were decent, the majority were terrible. Here's one of the better ones
3.5 hour AxiDraw plot, A2, Rotring 0.4mm Damn, I shouldn't have framed it before taking the photo, afternoon sun / reflections everywhere.
Think I'm done with twitter/x. Having focussed genart channels here, without ads for tractors and combine harvesters 🤦🏼 is the way. Not having to worry about follower count / reach too!
