We are busy this weekend improving UI. Creating the thread tree (3ms 😏) and thread view is a ton of work!

@heavygweit has been iterating over what a larger content surface area/threaded experience could be. We've looked at a ton of different social apps for inspo.

@christopher and I just shipped passkey-enabled onboarding along with wallet creation for /uno

why did we spend the last few weeks on this?

we expect our users to love this login experience - the ability to easily access and manage your account(s) is the first big touch point new users have with any platform

these passkey-enabled accounts give them the protection they deserve along with the opportunity to seamlessly participate in the onchain ecosystem from day 1 on Uno

one more milestone crossed on our path to beta!

(check out the process diagram for the onboarding flow - it does feel a little like magic how much goes on in the background from just a few button clicks)

ugh all of our APIs aren’t setup to serve a feed if the new user doesn’t follow anyone..

how do we solve this 🤔

/uno now supports channels for stories!

- share a public story to a channel you're a member of on Warpcast
- long term vision is adding your content to generative communities
- if you're not a member of the channel, it'll get hidden on Warpcast, but still labeled on Uno.

feature demos for /uno will slow for a bit: we need to build a dead simple onboarding experience.

"why not smart wallet/Privy/Dynamic?"

1. we need a dead simple sign up.
2. passkeys are a delightful user experience.
3. we are YAGNI true believers.
4. default to learning new things!

Uno's success is heavily dependent on @christopher bringing back the stache and wearing overalls while merging PRs

we love you all very equally and so @heavygweit and i will crush a 2 week sprint to onboard more folks into /uno lol.

reasons why we can't onboard today:
1. we want to (IAP + EOA + register with Farcaster contracts) = passkey
2. prevent signup spam
3. literally nothing is cached so things can break cleanly!

short week due to Dev Day!

1. showing mutual likes (long term goal is to make this a fun cast metric/insights area!)

we are so close to launching a closed beta!!

this week was a deep work 🚢 to solve UI/UX performance jank and burn down the TODO list.

really excited for the /uno design language — we have been inspired by artists and creators here!

@heavygweit and i are kicking around the idea of "story groups." a Story Group is a thread of casts of content like images or videos.

e.g. you have a public photo dump from Singapore, but then a private spill coming home. the public story is a thread of casts with image embeds.

what do y'all think?
