Immediately signed up. Excited to check this out. The logistics of parenting amongst two working and consistently overwhelmed parents of two kids in LA without family around is crushing. ANYTHING that can help, I'm game to try.

It is so painful for me to have children who suffer from anxiety and have panic attacks. That said, having suffered from them myself (as a child and adult) and having done lots of work with a therapist, I am very good at helping them through it.
Got my copy of Pace Layers in the mail today! Very excited to read it.

A great thing about the Arc browser is when I look at Twitter, I don't see as much of the shit. The Zap feature is awesome. I know other browsers do this as well, but I think Arc does it best. It's an underrated feature. Look at the difference!

I took the nearly-3-hour Zoom that the Clean Air Coalition did this week and created a custom GPT to help anyone impacted by the Los Angeles fires. Let me know what you think. Feel free to share.

Stories narrated by Miko, the most curious meerkat around. 🐾

Check it out—what should me + Miko explore next?

Decided to just publish a page with all of the resources I come across that can help people. Plain text FTW. I'm sure it can be organized better, but just wanted to get something up. I'll be updating regularly.

Re-ordered masks for the first time in a while. If you need them, LA Public Libraries have them. FCFS. And yes, you should probably be wearing them if you are outside. Ash and windblown dust is everywhere.

Hate that there are people taking advantage of this disaster. If you see it, report it.

Touched rocks this weekend. I have tremendous gratitude for having had the ability to get away this weekend with the family. What a gift. We ran into friends, of course. The desert can be harsh, but its beauty is undeniable.

Getting woken up twice in the middle of the night in a panic by false alarms to evacuate in the middle of a disaster is such a blight on LA infrastructure and the EAS system in general. What a joke.

Just saw the Falcon 9 launch from our front yard. A nice bright spot.

That evacuation alert was sent to ALL of LA County. HAS to be a mistake. No way they would try and evacuate the entire county.

Depending on what you need, there are a TON of resources in this Google Sheet. Please feel free to send to others who might need it.

Hollywood Hills now burning. We’re making a plan and getting out. There’s just no way for anyone to stop the fire and it’s going to get insane with traffic and people trying to flee. I cannot believe what’s happening.

Public Safety Alert - Boil Water Notice

The unprecedented demand for water in the Pacific Palisades over a sustained period for firefighting efforts has resulted in significant low water pressure in your area. As is common in many wildfire situations, this reduces water quality and can pose a health risk. LADWP and the State Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water strongly advise consumers in the 90272 zip code and adjacent communities north Of San Vicente Blvd. to ONLY USE BOILED TAP WATER OR BOTTLED WATER FOR DRINKING AND COOKING PURPOSES until further notice.

CA National Guard has been deployed. One of the things I heard on the scanner that isn't really being reported (for good reason) is that homes and businesses are being looted because police cannot respond, so that's what the National Guard will be helping with.
