The Nouns Camp community server is an attempt to strengthen the network effects of Nouns. I believe we can do a much better job supporting the people we fund, through good and hard times, success and failure. The core idea of this server is to develop a peer support system that acts as a companion and an additional benefit to recipients of Nouns funding.
Further uses and cliques may sprout from that core idea. I want this to be a highly experimental server where we can iterate quickly to figure out and meet community needs, with the ultimate goal of growing Nouns. We might run office hours and scheduled group calls, we might add a section for Nouns patrons (token owners). We might develop more onboarding for newcomers.

when everything becomes a token, nothing has value; this fundamental truth has been ignored & the fallout is now making its way to x
1) excessive tokenization creates a mirage of opportunity while actually destroying ecosystem value. when we fragment liquidity across thousands of micro-tokens, each new addition doesn't expand the pie—it merely slices it thinner. attention remains finite; liquidity remains finite; but tokens multiply endlessly
2) the math simply doesn't work. in a hyper-tokenized environment, capital continually flows toward novelty, creating temporary spikes followed by inevitable crashes. you can say "normal market efficiency" but the system generates far more losers than winners by design, not by accident
3) "direct monetization" sounds empowering but masks a brutal reality: without substantial existing audience, discovery becomes nearly impossible in a sea of tokens. creators with smaller followings face worse odds than in traditional systems, not better ones

idk if i agree w the premise of OP but social networks as we know them dying seems almost desirable as it will inevitably birth some new type of -thing- filling the void

Social networks *will* die because of LLM invasion. Don't believe me? Ask anyone if they would prefer joining an AI only vs human only social network.

I like that 5gram/jane are hoarding nouns bc it puts the onus on someone else (or a collective) to financially compete at auction in order to keep pace for gov control/influence.

Whether agree with premise or not, how would you act on this belief?
’Diversify’ seems like a no-brainer but in this scenario i dont think its obvious usd, stocks or crypto wont go to zero, and my mind goes to physical resources like land? Especially scarce land like a nyc penthouse?
(In this scenario im assuming there wont be a full-scale war, everyones dead etc, which is a different and imo less interesting puzzle.)

We should think about all grant recipients as founders. Doesnt have to be a startup. Nouns support founders of ideas, projects, initiatives, sometimes organizations.
Being a founder feels stronger than being a grantee, more agentic, empowering.
Furthermore, when we (as voters/community members) consider who we want to fund, we generally want the founder archetype. Someone with a strong drive, willing to take a bit of personal risk, and make an impact on people around them.
