My insight:

You don't suffer from a motivation problem, you suffer from a 'parts within you who are in deep conflict with one another' problem. Your resistance arises from these parts butting heads.

The solution is to stop identifying as these parts and to empathize deeply + relate to them lovingly

Because you cannot solve a problem when the parts of your psyche that are still holding that problem in place are actively fighting each other.
