I have noticed that although I have 2000 followers, I am not receiving 2000 likes on my casts. I'm not sure if this is being done intentionally or if these "friends" are forgetting to click 'like'. Either way, I've had enough. I have compiled a spreadsheet of individuals who have "forgotten" to like my most recent casts. After 2 consecutive strikes your name is automatically highlighted and I am immediately notified. 3 consecutive strikes and you can expect an in-person "consultation". Think about your actions.

People used to mostly converse in private instead of blasting it in public on the internet so it's natural that group chats are a big part of modern culture.

Also, if a group chat gets too big then it is natural that someone will leak it. Maybe this is why cabals of the past had a weird initiation process.

Honestly, I agree. I also think that warpcast still isn't that good at user/cast discoverability. Users should have an easier time discovering content they prefer.

Does warpcast ask people to select their interests during onboarding? If not, then it should.

Also, looking at onchain activities could help(I know this has been tried before but a more sophisticated approach could work)

honestly discovery/growth is not great on here at all, unless I am missing something. Have a great group of colleagues who are helping me out (@lazertech ) but compared to other social media, it is very easy to feel overwhelmed and move.

Also would love it if the feed could show new costs and not just old.

If you want a quality user on Farcaster to stick around then you should 100% welcome them by quoting them or tagging them. If you are not doing so then you're significantly increasing their chances of churning.
Quoting or tagging a user early increases their likelihood of sticking around later. So you better tag em.

One of the most important podcasts for me was "A Brief history of Mathematics".
It is a 10 episode podcast about the lives of great mathematicians.

I listened to it like 5 years ago. It really broke my view of how actual mathematicians live. It made me realize that I am in a sort of bubble. Actual mathematicians lived varied lives, some were shut-ins, some were good with ladies, some fought in wars, some were rebels, others a part of cabal.

They weren't just nerds with no other interests.

A lot of people consume only pop culture content(including people in tech) and fail to expand their bubble.

I feel like I somehow fell for the tech bubble too and forgot some of the stuff i had learned. Time to grow again.

I want to do open data analysis for farcaster full time because I believe farcaster has a lot of growth potential. I think answering certain questions about the behavior of users on farcaster can vastly help increase growth and retention. I did some basic ML in fc data and the insights have been interesting so far. Will publish soon.

I am just confused on how I should fund myself or if this is even a viable thing.

There's a pattern I have been noticing with these model releases.

Every time there is a new release, people go "A's model is so good, companies b,c and d are done for! while e isnt even in the competition"

Then company e releases something and then the fans of e go "e's model is so good, the rest are not even comparable, e won forever!!"

And then some other company releases a model and so on....

Remember how hard people were shitting on google not too long ago?
