TIL that you can scope where your variables show up in the UI to prevent the wrong styles being applied to various parts of your design.

At long last, horizontal layer scrolling is here.

The one thing UI 3.0 couldn't solve. Wen horizontal scroll in layers panel? Anyone have any workarounds for viewing/selecting deep layers like this other than expanding the sidebar?
TIL (⌘⌥A) + (⌘R) can be an efficient way to select matching layers across artboards in a section and rename them in one step:
Updated the warpcast UI kit.
It’s not perfect by any means but a fun project ;)

Lol Figma got rid of the floating menu's again in UI3.
Glad they did, it was annoying..

Does anyone actually use branching? If so, what workflows do you include it in?
Thinking about Figma as a $750m venture-backed business with massive expectations to generate returns makes its rising usage of dark UX patterns around plans & pricing more human — and more flawed.

sharing a small win - one of my Figma Community files just hit 1,000 downloads! It's been over 2 years and it's a small number compared to others, but feels good anyway. Also, the FC icon asset (not designed by me, just uploaded) is almost there.

Can anyone help get me access to Figma AI?
Thoughts on the UI 3 update? I'm still playing with it to get adjusted, but some quick takes:
- I like the modular visual approach. There is way less UI present at a time.
- Properties panel feel more intuitive to context while designing.
- Multiplayer tools don't feel as native to the properties panel. They could be another panel or moved to the navigation panel.
- The toolbar at the bottom is an uncomfortable and new pattern. That will take some getting used to. Wish I could drag it around so it's right where I need it while designing.
- In fact, wish I could drag all the UI windows around. Really lean into that modular build.

I have been unable to export svgs in sigma for the past hour and it drives me crazy - anyone else has issues exporting?
Flides looks cool and all, but what about nondesigners needing to make decks?

now we can see IOS/Material and a basic web design system available right in the Assets tab, available in every file, massive improvement I think
Consider me fully committed to making decks in Figma from now on.
I just tried using the Select Matching Layers (⌥⌘A) feature for the first time to swap 40 icons in one click and now I feel like god. I've been sleeping on that one.
Is this a verified, official channel from Figma, inc. ?
Any Figma nerds here? :)
This thing is a work of art, will definitely be adding a full sized Work Louder keyboard soon.

why is there even a figma iPad app if you can’t do anything design related with it?
it’s merely a figma file browser?

figma needs an AI tool that can tell me wrapping text in a bounding box is called 'cap height to baseilne' under the vertical trim prop. we know what we want, just not what its called. learning some rad things from the legend, MDS

I'm sure there are dozens of people out there stoked about all the convoluted design system tooling Figma has released but I am BEGGING for a simple flow line tool. This isn't something that should be left to plugins.

Building on closed corporate platforms is so painful.
Figma nerfed my Farcaster plugin, forcing me to refactor it. Then they blocked me from publishing plugin updates. After that, 2 weeks of silence.
I got such a great feedback from you guys. I will resolve this and continue on shipping 🫡

6 days of waiting to get my plugin accepted
Now, I cannot publish my first update because their team must verify my "seller status"
Plot twist: I'm not selling anything. The plugin is free

Might be a super niche question, but is there a good plugin to convert local variables to Tailwind CSS JSON? Most of them work well for normal styles, but none of them work for local variables.

A QUICK TRICK
If you've locked a file and can't locate it for unlocking, simply right-click on it, and it will be highlighted in the layer panel.

Hello! I’m a self-taught Figma novice who has been playing with it for about a year. I’ve made a 2D mockup of a product label. I have an image of a cylindrical jar and want to map the label onto its curved surface. How can I best achieve that distortion effect? I also have access to Pixelmator Pro, if that matters.
