99% of what’s in your IDE is there so you can larp programming instead of programming.

Same deal for “best practices”
it's ironic to me that much of so called "objectivity" is itself conceptual and ideological. when I think long enough about it, the only exception I can think of is mathematics - but that in itself is *entirely* conceptual too.

the most important ideas to us all have cyclical definitions, and thus we can expend infinite energy to fight over them indefinitely with little resolution. are there any exceptions? thinking a lot about this.
follow up. it's most likely that they're not ignoring you on purpose. they're very busy, just like you. they probably receive many dozens of messages every day. follow up.
need help launching your MVP or a new feature? I'm currently helping teams with their products alongside working on my own projects and searching for the next startup idea.

new farcaster hits different
Starting to think that the whole field of philosophy is the irony that humanity wasn’t able to comprehend or internalise Socrates’ lesson
crypto is a revolution in collective consciousness, but in which direction?
remember that you came here to escape orthodox thinking
what the tiktok algorithm was for content, farcaster could be for social software
farcaster is great to build on because distribution is basically built in - you don’t have to think as much about it. frames allow you to follow very simple patterns to build in viral sharing and growth. it’s still hard but a magnitude easier.
Definitely, health is valuable. But I wonder if spending much time obsessing over dodging death will cause only more suffering down the line. Being so totally attached to biological youth for many decades, noticing even more acutely + putting negative valence on getting biologically older. Needs more nuance imo.
So much collective energy spent throughout history to argue and align over what kind of story our minds should be telling themselves to describe experience.
the book that teaches you how to exploit the potent heuristic that drives all vertebrates to seek novelty, where our brain subconsciously reinforces any action that uncovers something novel and surprising.

heavily applied in in the design of casinos and backed up by real neuroscience research in rats by B.F. Skinner, Hooked teaches consumer founders how to align their app to leverage this evolutionary flaw to get the engagement and growth they need - and, best of all, to achieve that engagement regardless of whether or not their app is actually valuable to the end user.

for 500 million years mammals used their gift of novelty seeking to explore the world around them and discover exciting and unique ways to live, and now, with hooked, you can teach your fellow man to spend more time in your app and less time in your competitors'

"Hooked gives you the blueprint for the next generation of products. Read Hooked or the company that replaces you will."

the difficult thing about even genuine advice from own experience is that it comes from a complex philosophical worldview but we often only get a piecemeal crumb.

“do this to succeed”, but the “why” would take an entire library of books and nobody’s got time for that.

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm thankful for the increased cast length limit on Farcaster. I feel like I can express my ideas more meaningfully. conversations feel deeper, more interesting. collective consciousness is higher.
perplexity is making me more curious.

it's easy to avoid looking things up because the friction is just too high for the situation - like watching a lecture or whilst on a call. now that I've set perplexity as my search engine, the friction to understand the meaning of anything is near zero. huge compounding effects.

all news is fake. how can you expect reality from a system that optimises for engagement? reality is boring. news constructs the kind of reality we can’t afford to take our eyes off of
there are many books which have been classics for many centuries and will likely continue to be read thousands of years into the future.

do you think we will be able to say the same of:

youtube videos?
instagram posts?
tiktoks?
casts?
Not surprised. Feels like the entire duality of "Neurodivergence" has been collectively hallucinated in the last century. Industrialisation standardised and normalised pretty much every aspect of our life in order to optimally scale it globally. Especially work and education.

Anyone who deviates from the norm is unintentionally punished by such a system, and the experienced pain from this "divergence" is explained as something that is wrong with them.
