I think Elon Musk is a hateful despicable man. I gave ten years of my life building an audience on that site without understanding basic rules of ownership.
Even though I switched to Linux in 2006 (as a marketing undergrad 😂) and eagerly followed the decentralized social media space since Diaspora (remember that?) I was never able to switch completely - due to laziness and inertia.
After Elon started being openly racist, I made one of those very public announcements on Twitter that I cannot in good conscience stay on that platform and started researching Nostr, BlueSky, Farcast etc. Maz introduced me to Farcast and the warmth of this community nailed the final nail in the coffin of Twitter for me.
Now I root Elon's downfall and advocate for the growth of this community whenever I can.

China treated capitalism as a tool to get from point A to point B, placing it into a walled garden within their society while also maintaining other incongruent social and economic institutions.
The U.S. on the other effectively replaced its entire national identity with capitalism without most people even realizing this is what happened.
Now we will see which approach proved more successively.

Flag Raiser -- Full access to Discord but limited governance role.
Flag Bearer -- Longer-term members with governance and membership approval responsibilities.

I’m sure I’ve said this many times before but my time in the DAO formally known as bDAO was special to me. It was because of /cryptosapiens that I wandered here to Warpcast, it was because of folks like @links and @trewkat.eth that I learned about communication between people from different parts of the world, and folks like @vibrantty that I can see the different types of hard work, and work ethic,
At that same token, very happy to see things move forward as /blackflag . I’m not nearly as active as I used to be, Im not sure where my place would be to be active (which is a good thing, being an observer right now)
but it’s fun to look in there from time to time, watch the building blocks grow, and see what happens next. I think being able to observe is a blessing I that I don’t always realize.
Not sure why this sparked my mind, but you know me.
At that same token, very happy to see things move forward as /blackflag . I’m not nearly as active as I used to be, Im not sure where my place would be to be active (which is a good thing, being an observer right now)

One of the best use cases for crypto is to give the business sector a foundation to build on that’s harder for the state to capture. Even with control of fiat exchanges as choke points, crypto gives entrepreneurs with sufficient courage a way to build planetary businesses (not necessarily big — minimum scale is a multisig corporate wallet without single-jurisdiction control) that can gradually become independent of traditional territorial politics. This is necessarily a globalist, cosmopolitan posture because even the most powerful superpower derives its political and military power from a territorial base plus projection capabilities. Even when there are correlated global waves, when many states are swinging right or left in concert, state capture of commerce can be resisted. This is because states have a fundamentally vertical grain, serving a territorially identified population, while commerce has a horizontal grain, serving participants of evolving planetary value webs.
