I've spent the last few years exploring how blockchain could transform the music industry.
It's been an interesting journey - many promising experiments ultimately didn't work out as expected, and that pattern will likely continue.
Don't get me wrong, I feel like those experiments are still valuable, but I'm increasingly convinced we need to improve the existing systems first. The music industry is messy, and completely separate solutions rarely address the core problems.
That's why I've recently joined @originalworks as their Community Lead. And we just published an editorial with @fwb expanding on this perspective.
