We're launching a d/acc grants program with funding from Vitalik and some other great folks.

Would love if folks can suggest teams/projects that would benefit.

Has anyone built a functional web-of-trust thing? We have an actual use case.

tldr:
- people invite people to our popup city gatherings
- If invitee is great, we can track that, inviter gets some reward
- everyone connected to everyone in web
- interop with community tools
Hii friends, I'm looking to bring on someone to work with me on socials & content for Edge City @edgecity. Part-time role (at first).

If you intro me to the right person or they find me through your recast, I will ❤️ you forever (+ maybe give you a gift)

thank you! ☀️
Just one year since Zuzalu, there are dozens of 'popup villages.' You could spend the rest of 2024 going from one to another.

I wrote about my experience at these events and why I think they are important!

Great clip on the origins of house music in the late 80s. So many legends.

Also a banger soundtrack (Move Your Body — Marshall Jefferson)

I wrote an essay about how to approach programming content at popup villages / network city type events.

This is just our current thinking, very open to ideas!

How best to approach the content programming at our popup villages?

Our take is:

☀️ Maximize surface area for serendipity
☀️ Collaboration rather than just consumption
☀️ Diversity of disciplines

running this back from the meme contest a couple of weeks back ❤️
we're going to gather a bunch of amazing people in one place to live together for a month, learn from each other, and build cool frontier tech.

every month for the last 6 years, I have made a playlist of my favorite tracks I heard that month.

January had lots of beautiful chill jams, good listening for the week!

Cool idea! Shoutout @garysheng for getting this started 👍
Excited to launch a new concept called Edge City, which will convene people working at the frontier of tech, science, and society in popup villages across the globe, in order to accelerate human flourishing.

getting that feeling in crypto again when there's too much exciting stuff going on and I wish I had ten copies of myself

resorting to building my thing as efficiently as possible during the day while checking farcaster on breaks and then catching up on what you guys are up to at night ❤️

absolutely love it
Highly recommend this for people building interesting products in crypto and AI. It'll probably be an extra gud time with some frames thrown in.

Online, 100% free and no-strings. Lots of grants.

Build has been incredible. In V1 and V2 we helped launch hundreds of projects and distribute $140k+ in grants.

Today we’re announcing Build V3 🚀 https://backdropbuild.com/

Come ship a frame or two with some extra wind in your sails.

@sophia we should build a hyperboard frame, so you can see all of the hypercerts that have supported something directly in your feed, updating in real time.

this is what we were discussing with the realtime updates, but it wouldn't work on Twitter. Now it can!
Love this Ursula Le Guin line:

"they talked, and new worlds were born of their talking. It is of the nature of idea to be communicated: written, spoken, done. The idea is like grass. It craves light, likes crowds, thrives on crossbreeding, grows better for being stepped on."

I wrote some thoughts in response to @pmarca's great manifesto. Tried to add nuance in a thoughtful way. Would love people's thoughts.

TLDR: tech progress is good 👍 markets aren't always perfect 🌱 we need to focus on big pernicious problems

I wrote a lil essay for Folklore about our digiphysical future, and past. It's called Object Histories.

What happens when every physical object has an onchain record? A beautiful archive of memories, imbuing our things with stories.

I spend a lot of time finding new jams each month, and it's a joy to share them. Full Jan playlist here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6SnoisMH3i3qGqdWQqzne0?si=0bfdf69ac5aa45b2 https://i.imgur.com/yUXQITe.png
Has anyone successfully transferred their number to Google Fi or Google Voice or something similar? I'm spending a lot of time outside the US so I don't need to keep paying the network subscription, but I'm scared of not being able to get my 2FA codes (I know this is dumb).
Good post. Key point: diversity of thought helps us avoid blind spots and adapt to changing environments.

This is why I love that our fund is a DAO. But we have to implement structures to take advantage of this and avoid the common pitfalls of group decision-making.

Is there a Farcaster Berlin group going yet? Down to start one if not.
God I just love that I can see every other holder of an NFT collection I have on Farcaster. So interesting to see, especially for some of the super random ones I bought last year.

I know this is an obvious feature of web3 social but still just gets me. https://i.imgur.com/4ZESTKe.png

Has anyone figured out a good way to manage 4-5 email accounts in one streamlined app on desktop?

Gmail app on iOS is pretty good at this but I just want to be able to search all of my inboxes in one go on desktop. Apple Mail app is not the one.
Spotify needs to allow sorting podcast episodes from a particular show by 'most popular'. Like they do with songs on an artist page.

Easy way to take advantage of their scale and start to built some network effects in a medium where most content is avail on many platforms.
For the last 4+ years I've been making playlists of the music I discover each month. Trying to figure out how to share them all in the best way, but here is sep 22:

Just getting home from DevCon. Why do some conferences feel so productive and high ROI like last week vs. some feel completely unnecessary.

Different target audiences I guess?
