Took the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Utsunomiya for the day which was a nice break from the extreme urbanscape of Tokyo. Walked through Oya quarry and bought a little succulent planter made from (allegedly) the mined stone. Grabbed some gyoza where every shop had lines wrapped around the block.

Appetizers for dinner 😋 My second go at pork & Napa cabbage gyoza. I made the wrappers from scratch this time and my arm was sore the next day from all the rolling. Used garlic and garlic chives from my garden for the filling, want to add in scallions and garleek next time. Shishitos from the garden, too! 🪴

My first chicken katsu curry came out nicely! Curry was made from cubes- will try from scratch next time.
